AUTHOR BIOS

Jenny and Richard have two children and live in Massachusetts
on Cape Cod.
Richard is an architect with
practices in Lake Tahoe, California and Cape Cod,
Massachusetts. Richard studied
architecture in the Master of Architecture program
at the University of California, Berkeley and at
the Boston Architectural Center. He apprenticed with
Grattan Gill, a former apprentice of Frank Lloyd
Wright. Richard received his B.A. from the University
of New Mexico. Richard is currently working on a
new children’s book with artist Charles Sovek.
Jenny, the daughter of Pulitzer
prize-winning author and journalist Hedrick Smith,
is a freelance writer,
researcher, and television producer. She has recently
written a book for teachers and administrators titled
Education and Health: Natural Partners in Learning
for Life. Jenny has also worked on the production
of numerous documentaries for PBS, including the
award-winning Surviving the Bottom Line. Jenny has
an M.A. in the field of psychology from John F. Kennedy
University and a B.A. from Boston College. She grew
up in Russia, Egypt, New York and Washington, D.C.
